JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination Mains) is an entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at various National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other engineering colleges in India. It is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Candidates can apply for JEE Mains through the official National Testing Agency (NTA) website. The application process includes filling out an online form, uploading necessary documents, and paying the exam fee. Make sure to keep a copy of the filled application form for future reference.
To be eligible for JEE Mains, candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. There are also age limits and number of attempts that apply, and eligibility may vary depending on the specific institutions you’re applying to. JEE Mains consists of two papers: Paper 1 (for B.E./B.Tech courses) and Paper 2 (for B.Arch and B.Planning courses). Paper 1 is conducted online and consists of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper 2 is a pen-and-paper-based exam and includes questions related to Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing for B.Arch candidates.
After the exam, JEE Mains results are announced on the official NTA website. Candidates can check their results by logging in with their application number and date of birth. The result will display the candidate's scores, All India Rank (AIR), and eligibility for JEE Advanced.
